how to send mail in sugarcrm

I have just install sugarcrm 5.5 on my pc
I want to send mail to my contact but it have notice like "Error emailing:SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host." and email cannot sent.
From mail: do_not_reply@example.com

Can you help me to send mail.
