Default How to take a production site offline for work

    Hi there

Does anyone have any recommendations for how they deal with this?

For example, as you're doing upgrades, maintenance, restores and basic system admin stuff, how do you take the site offline to ensure that no users are logging in and doing work on the live site at the same time?

I'm curious to know the way other people deal with this? Any and all recommendations are welcome!

    Thanks
    Rod.

Yes, that's what I do too.

What about kicking any users out that are logged in?

What I have done in the past is sent a system message and then deleted the sessions at a prespecified time!
Not so nice but it works. In theory one could convert the forge module LoginAudit (see forge) to store session Ids on login and have a checkbox that forces their logout (by deleting session file, if exists) a bit like Joomla does.
