Hi,
I'm trying to Import some Product information from a CSV and some of the "note" fields have linefeeds in them to aid readability. This seems to confuse the import. Is there a way I can retain the linefeeds and still do the import?
Thanks

Hi Facet,
In general if your import data contains fields which may confuse the format (such as commas or line feeds) simply enclose the field in double quotes.
You then have the option of telling Sugar at import time that fields are quote delimited. You only actually need to enclose the complex fields - not all of them.
If you open in Excel and then save as CSV, it will normally do this for you anyway.

Hi,
Will this option work if I have a notes field with multiple quotes?
For example my notes filed has five part numbers, when these were entered, they were entered on each line with a CR after each was entered. My CSV report has them displaying one line.
Are you saying when I separate them, I should have each line in double quote?
When I do this will they all appear in a mapped field type I have designated as "Text/Area"?
Thanks
This works fine for me in the notes module - i.e. my file has multiple linefeeds inside a particular field's quotation marks, although I seem to get multiple line feeds, but otherwise fine. In a text editor, the file looks like this:
subject,note,author
"callback","I called this guy
and he wanted to talk
LVM for him","George"
"email","this line has no linefeeds","George"
the above would create two notes. ..

saddest thing is that I seem to get 4 linefeeds for the price of 1!!!! Every time a line is imported with a linefeed, it turns into 4 linefeeds in the db field. . .weird.
