How to use new 'My Favorites' functionality?

I was just searching, and found that 6.1 added the ability to:

"You can mark records as “My Favorites” from the List View of custom modules, and most standard modules. The exceptions are Calendar, Emails, Forecasts, and Knowledge Base modules. You can use the “My Favorites” filter to search for your favorite records. You can also add a “My Favorites” dashlet to your Home page to view these records."


Where does this functionality live? I have not been able to find anything related to setting particular records to favorites on a user basis...

In detail view, beside the name of the person is a star. Simply click on the star to create a favourite.
