    Default How to use sugarcrm

    Hi
I'm quite new to crm in general but nor so "new" that I not understand the benefits of it. To manage a small business for me and my partners I installed SugarCrm. We have started to use it and have already seen the advantages a crm system can give.

SugarCrm offers quite a lot of "possibilities" which at the moment its is strength and "weaknes". Basically we are four people using sugar in four different ways.......

So now to my questions. We would like to use SugarCrm in a commaon way, based on other peoples experience of implementing workprocess and work flows. We dont want to develeop new functions in sugarcrm to support our way to work,,,, just adapt our way to use SugarCrm to established way... based on more experince of sugar.

I've tried to google on this topic, sofar without success. UI always end up on some page describing how to press buttons,, or develop extensions.

So,, can someone help me and direct me to information proposals how to use sugar on a "higher" level.

    //regards

As always, the devil is in the detail ... "higher level" is insufficient information to advise on usage ... you need to describe the business requirements and processes that you wish SugarCRm to reflect ... then more tailored advice may be forthcoming

Maby I did no express myself to clearly .....

We would like to adapt to somebody elses requirements and buisiness process ,, if it is documented. We are only four people and just started our work,,,, using somebodys elses processes as base from wich to start,,, sounds like a appealing way to gett things going for us.

We are a small sales company,,, in need of keeping track of customers and relations..... To do this,, how do we use Leads?, Accounts?,, Opportunities.??? When do you use leads,,, when goes a Lead over to a Opportunity... A lot of questions raises and we would like to get some input from peoplpe used to SugarCrm

Hope I have been more specific now.

Yes ... but there are still a number of questions and observations:

Observations - few company's have the same processes - this is a great strength of SugarCRM - customisation to unique processes

Question - what are your processes - you need to map these out BEFORE you start - are you professional services, support, distribution, manufacturing ... etc. etc.

We are a small company selling consultant services.

We dont want, we cant afford designing processes of our own. At this moment we will not customize sugar. We just would like to get some help with finding suggestion how to use sugar.

Many this will change in the future, but at the moment we just would like to learn from other, examples how to use sugar.

I do a lot of cold calling with sugar when i start a lead i creat the account then i make notes based on my call with the notes field. After the call is done if the account wants a call back i will edit my call to a new date. When i have finished the call cycle I complete my call.

Doing this i can keep track of my notes and when i have finished the call i complete it and its out of my calendar as and open call.

I should also say that this will only work in conjunction with the calendar, So i will check my Calendar on the month view look at my calls for that day and work through my list.

Using two windows can speed the process up but at first i recommend just sticking to one window AND DON'T USE THE BACK BUTTON! save your work and go back to calendar
