Question Howto setup an email dropbox like highrise

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently researching howto setup an email dropbox like highrise has. We migrated from highrise to SugarCRM a few days ago and our sales rep is missing that feature. I'm pretty sure there is a way to set this up. For the people who don't know how it works in Highrise:

When you write a mail to a lead or contact in your normal email client you put something like dropbox@highrisehq.com in the BCC and highrise will automagically attach that mail to the contact.

How would you add this feature to your SugarCRM?

    Kind regards
    Skalla

edit: We are using SugarCRM 5.2.0j btw.

Probably the easiest way is to grab one of the outlook integration products (presuming your email client is outllok) from the sugarforge. send the email. then right click on the sent email in the email client and attach it to the contact record.

Thanks for the hint but that's not an option. We are an open source only shop and we don't want to stipulate an email client. I thought I read something about using inbound mail and goup folders but I haven't understood how to set that up. See http://developers.sugarcrm.com/wordp...mail-in-sugar/ (last paragraph). Is this the right path to follow?

Ok, it seems to work like described in the last post. Not checked very well though.

    Hi,

Just a quick remark from my experience.
Attaching an email from the SugarCrm UI is a pain. It takes too long and it is very inefficient.
The built in email client as a whole is not a very good implementation. I really hope they are going to improve it soon.

    Thanks.
