    Default htaccess / SugarCrm is shown without stylesheet

    Hello,

    I installed sugarcrm 6.2.1 communty edition on my apache server.
    Host = hostgator

    The installation was done in a subfolder of my webserver. Installation worked fine.

    In the htaccess file i had to put DirectoryIndex index.php, to not get the "Index Of" page of this folder..

    Now when i load my sugarCrm page, the page loads without the Stylesheet.

    Is there anything else i have to add to the htaccess, or do i have to do something else to get the page displayed correctly...

    The problem also persists after logging in...

    Can you check that the urls in the <HEAD> section of your webpage do not resolve to 404 not found.

    If they do - it could be a permissions issue.

    Nice.

    Couple of questions...

    is it worthwhile mentioning the change in the config file for permissions?

    Also is it just the cache folder that needs changing ? i think there are others too right?

    Thanks for the read.

    I've debated about the config.php. Reason being, I am not entirely sure it actually helps, while at the same time, I have no measurable way of knowing it doesn't cause any other problems.

    Those in favor will likely point out that it eliminates the need to have to re-apply the settings on cache at some point down the road. That's been my observation as well, but again, I don't know if I am exposing myself to other potential problems and in reality, re-applying the settings is a 10 second thing. I'd rather opt for the safer of the two options.

    The cache directory is the only one that needs to be changed as far as I know. I've used Hostgator quite often and replicate the problem on command. Same for various other hosts, so long as they are Linux.

    I remember when I set-up Sugar for the first time

    I did chmod -R 755 in the home folder... and I still got errors. Things only started to work when I changed the permissions in the config file.

    Maybe changing the owner is what I should of done. Note to self ... next time do that

    I've never gone though an upgrade... and not too sure I want to anytime soon! LOL .. still too new at this Sugar thing !
