Default httpd segfaulting while using SugarCRM

Like so many before me, I'm encountering segfaults from httpd while clicking on 'Create User' or trying to do any user-related operations. I had initially configured it for LDAP authentication, but now I've removed that and it still fails:

[Wed Aug 23 12:11:52 2006] [notice] child pid 19982 exit signal Segmentation fault (11), possible coredump in /tmp

    I'm running:
    - Centos 4.3
    - php-4.3.9-3.15 (recompiled from source as directed)
    - SugarSuite 4.2.1b
    - httpd-2.0.52-22.ent.centos4
    - mysql-4.1.20-1.RHEL4.1

Attached is the debug log. I can attach the coredump if necessary.

This is a new installation (that has data imported from Act). Everything is going well except for anything user-account related.

    Help please!

You might have better luck with a newer version of PHP, maybe something in the 4.4 series. Usualy a crash like this indicates a PHP bug, although an Apache bug isn't out of the question.
