I cannot create new users

Hello to everyone!
I'm a newbie of Sugarcrm and I try to install a 5.5 version with the Faststack package for windows server (2003 in this case).
Everything was fine and I started to use the program as admin and load my local language pack.
The problem is that when I try to create a new user I cannot save it!The button "save" is clickable but if I click it nothing happens.I can only press cancel and go back to the previous page.
I tried also to manually configure a lamp server on ubuntu 9.10 and installed every software step by step (mysql, php, apache2 and the permission rights, chown, chmod etc...) and after that I installed a standalone version of Sugar 5.5. Installation was perfect but I received the SAME error about creating new user!
Some ideas?Thank you so much!

have you made a Quick repair on administrations board after instal of language pack ?

What is the memory_limit parameter into your php.ini?
Have a look into error log of your web server.

What's your "local language pack"? If it is the German one then you are using the pre-release one that has an error.

Try to change to english and then create a new user. Does that work?

Kuske is correct. If English works then you can narrow it down to the language pack. Check then modules/users/language/yourlanguage.lang.php for mixed up single and double quotation marks.

Hi,

I seem to be having the exact same problem (can't create user... Save button in the Users module doesn't do anything). I have a brand new installation of SugarCRM CE - Version 5.5.0a (Build 6659).

I am running on a hosted server with MySQL and PHP5 and using English language pack. Everything else seems to be working fine, so I am a little puzzled about this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

I already tried Quick Repair from the Admin panel to repair the Users module with no luck.

The same here:
SugarCRM CE 5.5.1 (1202)
OS: Ubuntu server 8.04.4 LAMP
php.ini memory_limit=64M

Quick repair did not help.
no warning/error in apache error.log
no fatal in sugarcrm.log (tried debug mode too, no help)
Clicking Save buttun on users management, seems to do nothing.
I cannot create new user or change admin details (password, name etc.)

After some digging it seems that the issue arises since the variable REASSIGN_JS in modules/Users/EditView.tpl is not defined elsewhere, being empty clicking on Save button does it not return anything? Who knows!
