Angry I cannot edit field labels! Changes aren't saved!

    Hello!

As in topic: I cannot save the changes in field labels.

I have created a new, clean Sugar instance, copied the database and installed custom fields, that were created in the previous version (through the Studio's export changes button).

Now I'm not able to save any changes in custom field labels

Previous crm was Sugar CE 5.5.1. Now I'm working on 5.5.4.

    Please, help!!

That's always an issue of missing rights.

I've checked all of the permission and changed the directories to 777. Still nothing :/

So the permissions aren't the issue Any other ideas?

    Greets!

If you are not able to save any changes in custom field labels, then you have no rigth to write or create on /custom/modules/<module>/language/en_us.lang.php.
    Check that.

I've double-checked the permissions. Still not solved

And it's not en_us - I'm using polish translation. So I change the pl_pl file. Is this right?

I have imported the database (via mysql command line) and the customizations (via Studio) from the previous instance of Sugar. I've noticed, that not only labels, but also couple of custom dropdowns are missing :/

Is there a way to simple copy/edit some files to get it right? Where shall I serach?

    Thank You for any advices!

Uhh why didn't you make a regular update? It's always the best way...

Try to edit first the english files and then the polish ones.
And look to the rights of the parent directories.

DO you have a linux system?
What are the default_permissions in config.php?

Are you sure the database is sync to your custom definitions?

did you set the error logging to debug?

are there any error messages in sugarcrm.log?

I did an upgrade on the previous instance. It has generated so many errors, that I couldn't work no longer like this. I thought, that with a fresh install it'll be much better. And it is! ..except the nasty field labels in one and only one module: Cases.

In sugarcrm.log I have this error:

Sun Jun 27 12:37:10 2010 [15816][53d02564-dc07-1ba6-0774-48cf6de3261f][FATAL] HTTP Error: no data present after HTTP headers

    Pragma: no-cache
    Content-Length: 0
    Connection: close
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8

And yes - I'm working on linux, but I'm not the root. I've also made the rebuild & database repair and it showed me, that everything is all right :/

The rights of all directories are ok. I didn't try to edit the english files, but I'll try (though I don't think, that it has something to do with this problem).

Thank You for help! Hope for some ideas, if You have some more on this one..

    Update:

I have checked the english lang files and the right field labels are there too!!! I don't understand, why it doesn't work

Another question: where are the dropdowns (_dom 's) stored? Cause I'm missing 2 or 3 of them...
