Question iCal export / Network Calendar

I use a small utility called Rainlendar (ww.rainlendar.net) to display a todo list and calendar directly on my desktop. The new release of Rainlendar allows you to connect to a network available iCal calendar (Like Google Calendar) so here's me thinking that connecting it to Sugar would be absolutely superb.

However, the calendar in Sugar only seems to publish free and busy times, which isn't what I need.

I scoured for plugins but the last iCal export style plugin seems to be for an old release (3.5) and hasn't been maintained for a year.

How should I go about formatting my task, call, meeting and all other schedule based information into a valid iCal file for Rainlendar to attach to?

You might want to look at the iCal Patch and see if that does what you need. This has been maintained and upgraded recently, although it apparently doesn't work with the f and g patches to 4.5.0. However, there is an easy work-around detailed in this thread .

It sure would be a lot easier if they would support .ics files natively in Sugar.

Unhappy Re: iCal export / Network Calendar

Thanks for the response, though it doesn't get me very far. I added the iCal patch and then amended the DateTime issue but when I view my published calendar I simply don't see a darned thing besides the free/busy times as before.

Is there something I'm missing? The iCal patch documentation is.... scant to put it nicely!!

Hm. I'm able to get my to-do list into Sunbird (which uses .ics format), so the information is likely there. I'm not familiar with Rainlander, but it might be something about how it handles .ics files.
