id creation

i just recently installed SugarCRM and trying to learn it.
im new here and this is my first question:

how does the sugarcrm creates a contact id like this? 8ac5f557-1048-614e-8397-4612a98b1c

and where in the php pages does it creates id like that...?

Anyone?

It is generated via the create_guid function in the <sugar root>/include/utils.php file.

Hi Guys,

I've got another Problem with this ID, but I think, it could fit here, so I decided to ask for help in this thread.

I'd like to show this ID in Contacts an Accounts Detail View as well as in Edit View of Cases.

I'm looking for a solution quite a while, but didn't find anything.

Has anybody an idea?
