ID of Lead converted to Contact

HI All,

After a lead is converted to a contact, how can I link the original lead record to the new contact record in a SQL join? The contact records' ID # doesn't seem to be the same as the original lead ID # and I'm not finding a linking reference field.

This happens automatically.

In my Instance when I convert a lead to a contact the following appears once complete.

I click into the Lead and above the button in the detail is a little window that says "Converted Contact with a link to the contact"
In the Contact then the lead appears in the Leads Subpanel.

If this is not happening for you check your logs for any errors?

I think you misunderstand my problem. I'm writing an external program in C# that accesses the SugarCRM database to extract data into an Excel spreadsheet. I'm trying to put together a SQL query which will join the original Lead record to the newly created Contact, Account, whatever record. I'm not working within the SugarCRM interface but dealing with the database directly.
