Default Image Upload/Download problem

Hi, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction please? I'm a newbie trialling community edition and i'm looking at the document module. if i attach a jpg file to a document it seems to attach ok, but when i click on the filename afterwards, it comes up with an "open" dialog and if i proceed to open the image i just get a red x like it cannot find the image.

I've installed sugarcrm on a server, but i'm trying to attach from a client if that's an indicator. I'm assuming i've not set something up somewhere. I'm not even sure if files/images are supposed to be stored in the db or in a file location. If it's a file location, where is it configured?

If anyone could help or point me to a document that details this it would be really helpful.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

when u uplaod image, it writes filename in db and image is located in sugar/cache/upload folder.

So, upload image, check table in db for a value of that field, search the folder i mentioned and remeber that files are saved without extension so if you upload bird.jpg it will be something like fjh589f-fu4u487fb-dfnuh457gfb and no extension

Hi, thanks for replying so fast.

The filename in the db does appear to have the correct filename and extension in the "filename" field (i.e. bird.jpg), and the file in the upload directory is "69a1e53d-ec3b-034c-de25-4c862dd15b1a" which matches up to the id field in the db- if i put the .jpg on the end of the file it shows the file i uploaded. However, when i try and retreive the document through sugarcrm, i just get a red x like it can't find it.. it even does the same on the server.

Hi, I've found that it seems to be a problem with Image files in particular. Other file types seem fine.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

The document storage is a secure place where your documents are safely secured for your future assignments. Electronic documents and images of paper documents are stored very effectively.
