Implimentation Documentation

I am new to Sugar and I am trying to impliment it in our company.

I have found that the "User and Administrator Guide version 4.2.1" is a rather high level document and it does not describe some of the more intricate details of the system, Is there some sort of an "Implimentors manual" that I have been unable to locate or is it a case of browsing though all the PHP files to get an understanding of the system.

One of the issues I have is locating custom fields for reuse in the same module, but a diffirent view. This is not clearly discussed in the "User and Administrator Guide version 4.2.1".

I would love some direction.

The lack of responses to this post is rather discouraging since it leads me to assume that there is no implementer’s manual.

Would anyone please confirm or dismiss..

There is little documentation available now; however, later this month, there is a sugar wiki scheduled to launch with a lot of useful documentation.

The wiki sounds nice, but what has system implementers been using up till now, we are already on version 4.2.1

Surely given that this is an enterprise system there has to be SOME documentation?

I can't say that I am not dissapointed.

This complicates things... Does partners get any aditional information or documentation?

No - not really - some sales collateral, but no secret development documentation

But I think when the wiki is available you will be quite pleased - so just be patient for a bit longer.

yeah, whatever. a wiki is a pretty lame-ass substitute for some real documentation, IMNSHO. And if it's anything as lame as this forum or worse, the bug-tracker, for searching and mining data - then it will be useless.
