Import Doesn't Work At All On 5.1 Not Even On The Sugar Demo!

Try it! Go on! Try importing tasks, try importing notes, try importing anything! It doesn't work!

I've tried tab delimited, comma delimited and it don't work!

Here's the error from the sugarcrm.com demo site that i just tried!

I had also submitted a bug to the same effect on your bug tracker thingy but when i did it there was no option for this version of sugar so i left it unclassified.

Will you add a post to this thread when the issue has been resolved?

Most strange, i have tested it and had no problems. i was importing something from another sugar install, i selected csv and double quotes and off it went, ok the date modified info didnt come across but then i was modifying it anyway.
worked ok but watch out for date formats, that caught me out once. I still dont understand why it decided to change the due dates to 1970 though.

But, for me it worked ok.

I even tested it without having any dates imported as i know that can be a problem a lot of the time but still the same result.

The only thing i haven't tried is fiddling around with the line endings of the file and stuff like that but it really shouldn't be an issue.

Hi,

We have had mixed results. Both systems are 5.1 RC

With one system absolutely no issues, imported among other things over 80.000 Notes with no problems.

With a second system we are getting the same errors as audiopleb. The only difference I can see is that in the second system we have added a lot of custom fields via Studio.

I szspect that this is causing the issues.

I dont know if its of use, but there is an data tool with maps available for sugar called apatar, might be a work around for now. I am not sure if you have seen it?

Mine is a totally fresh install, no custom fields at all. Totally default setup.

I have made the test csv file myself in excel and also got some data out of our current CRM which i'm trying to migrate from.

Both have the same results.

I used a csv to import data (tasks), and i used double-quotes as my qualifier and it worked like a charm. is there anyway you can tweak your data and try that?
