Import into E-Mail address book from custom module?

I made a contact based custom module, containing personal data including e-mail addresses.
Is it possible to connect that module to the e-mail address book import?
Right now it only searches in leads, contacts and users - how to expand that to the custom module?
Any ideas?

I´ve been searching for some time now, with only little success.

In the "EmailUI.js" the value "input_searchPerson" is being thrown into the getDataGrid function - so should it be enough to add the module name to the dropdown?
