    Default Import and Scrolling 4.5.g

    Hi,

I just tried to import 4600 leads and failed 3 times without any comments from the system (4.5g). It simply stopped and didn't show any error (the import file is and was ok).
The database revealed that only app. 1300 records were imported. So I deleted everything through the back door (leads, extra fields and import history) and tried to split up my file in to four batches. Worked like a charm.

Another issue: I have now app. 5000 leads in the database but scrolling (next / previous) with some records marked doesn't work anymore. It actually did once (after a restart) but not anymore.

Now all that leads me to suspect a memory problem but I wouldn't know where. I'm running a test server with 512MB RAM on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS with no other servers started (no mail, no ftp, no postgresql) just mysql5, apache2 and php5.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

Check the memory limit in your php,ini file, memory_limit should be as high as possible, Sugar recommends about 350M. Remember to restart Apache after making any changes

    Hope this helps

    Hi Malcolm,

Thanks. Will try that. It's currently set to 32M. 350M seems very much to me, especially since the entire import file is just 900k or so. Also given its processing speed for 1000 records - we're talking 10 sec or so.

However, I can get around that easily - mass imports won't happen too often. The scrolling/paging issue bothers me much more. It's kind of an on and off thing. Now it's back to normal again. Without me changing anything...

    Hi,

Changing the PHP memory limit helps with importing data correctly. PHP seems to do strange things with the data when it starts running out of memory.

With the scrolling problem, only see this sort of thing with Emails, seems to work everywhere else OK with our 4.5.0f & 4.5.0g instances.
    Cheers Malcolm

    Hello
Me too had the same issue, while importing a csv in to the leads. approx 2232 records were there, and the total size of the file is just below 300KB. but it got stuck when the record count was 1367. I tried it twice, and when it was reaching at 1367, it lost the way.... Later, we just put the data in to 3 files and it worked easily.
There was no problem with the 1367th or 1368th records.

I am not sure why it happened.
    Any Clue?

    Thanks!
