    Default Importing Blank Emails.

    Folks,

    I am new to SugarCRM and struggling to import some data which is in a CSV originally from ACT!. Basically no matter which way I try and import the records Sugar moans about any row which has a blank email address, and also about the date format in some fields.

    Is it not possible to import rows with a blank email address? Do I have to specify a default value, even though I really want no email address?

    I have tried both 5.5RC1 and 5.2.0j and get the same result on both!

    Anyone got any ideas?

    email is not a mandatory field so you should be able to import without it.

    It's usually dates where the problems lie and trying to import too many records at once. Keep record imports to batches of c. 400 and make sure that the date format in the database and the date format of the records you're importing are aligned

    I have tried both 5.5RC1
    You should NOT use 5.5 for production purposes ... it won't be ready for another 6 months or so ... the RC nomenclature means Release Candidate ... generally SugarCRM is not appropriate for production use until around patch f ... so if you wanted to use 5.5, wait until you see a release 5.5(f)
