Importing Custom fields when converting Lead

I am wanting to import the data from 'Lead Source Description' into a new record, when I convert the lead to a CONTACT.

I made a custom field in the contact module, called 'Lead Source Description', but the data is not exporting when the lead is converting. I am sure there is something that I need to do to 'link' these fields somehow... (Also, is there anyway to input the same data into a custom field when I create an 'Account' -- not as important but wondering...).

The Contact module has 'Lead Source' already built in, but there is no 'Description' for the lead source... I really want to somehow carry that data over. Any ideas?
