Default Importing data using ODBC connector / Editing Primary Keys

Im having problems importing data with related fields. If I edit MySQL and change the primary keys from ID to my customer ID Numbers, will this cause problems?

you can use whatever ID you want as long as it is uniwue but need to be consitent throughout the 2whole system. Just imported some hundred thousand objects that way for one of our customers. Btw. Talend is nice tool to support you in that and also pen source.

What you can use is an ETL tool. There are open source tools available for free.
Talend Open Studio is an open source ETL tool for data integration and migration experts. It's easy to learn for a non-technical user.

What distinguishes Talend, when it comes to business users, is the tMap component. It allows the user to get a graphical and functional view of integration processes. For more information: http://www.talend.com/
