Importing errors

I am having a problem when importing leads/contacts into Sugar, where I will get errors on certain fields that seem to be fine.

For example, I have gotten several errors on the website field. The error says 'string too long to fit in field'. I have been able to import websites longer than ones that get the errors and when I go and check the field, everything seems to be correct...

I've gotten similar problems with other fields (last name -- error says required field missing, but I have a last name in the field).

Any ideas?

What's the source you are importing from?
Is that a .csv file?
Are you sure the file structure is correct (separator, value types, ...) ?
Try with a smal .csv, with a few records only, and see what happens.
