Default importing from previous SugarCRM install

I have been asked to import from a previous SugarCRM for a client into 5.1. When I import their Projects and Calls I get these sorts of errors:

    "Invalid datetime","LBL_DATE (date_start)","01/04/2008 10:30",1
    "Invalid date dtring","LBL_DATE_END (date_end)",31/03/2008,1
    "Invalid datetime","LBL_DATE (date_start)","22/04/2008 10:45",2
    "Invalid date dtring","LBL_DATE_END (date_end)",21/04/2008,2
    "Invalid datetime","LBL_DATE (date_start)","23/04/2008 12:15",3
    "Invalid date dtring","LBL_DATE_END (date_end)",22/04/2008,3
    "Invalid datetime","LBL_DATE (date_start)","06/05/2008 11:45",4
    "Invalid datetime","LBL_DATE (date_start)","06/05/2008 12:45",5
    "Invalid datetime","LBL_DATE (date_start)","18/09/2008 14:45",6

Why did SugarCRM export this data such that it is invalid to import it back in?

I found the same error. What is the proper format for importing dates?

    Thanks

You might want to check your database to see how your date time fields are stored in the database. I found that the 'good' format for date time import is yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss. Try to reformat the date time data on your csv to this format and see if this works.

It might be exporting the data in a different format designated in the system settings or your user settings

I found the answer to the problem. It seems that SugarCRM import tools in 5.2 need to have dates formatted in the exact same date format that a user has chosen under My Account section.

In my case I had to select YYYY-MM-DD and HH:MM and click save in My Account.

After that, I tried the import again and everything worked.

    Thanks
    Jon
