Default Importing should be simple and easy...but

I have been trying to import a simple csv file of leads into Sugar. I go thru the simple steps to import, but for some reason I can only import 49 contacts. My leads list has over 700 contacts in it with only a few fields.

Even when I try and break the list down to 45 leads at a time and do them individually, it will then only take 10 or so from the next list.

I am getting really frustrated with this...so I hope someone can help me...?

Problems like this are usually data related.

Not necessarily something you've done wrong, but CSV import processes in general are more prone to problems than trying to import a dBASE file for example. That's true for just about any system you use.

In any case, some questions/items that might help:

    1. Are you importing any free form text fields or fields with multiple line entries? If so, try creating a copy of your source file without that data and try again.

    2. If you have Excel, open up the file in Excel and make sure the values line up with the various columns. It is possible that one of the value actually contains a comma, and that would cause a problem.

    3. Check for apostrophes in the values as that could be a source of problems too.

    4. Examine the 46th record for the above, as that record is the likely source of the problem.
