Default Importing Targets From CSV File Problem

    Hello,

I have just recently installed SugarCRM (opensource) Version 5.5.0 (Build 6653) and I'm having some trouble importing targets from a CSV file.

I have had positive results whilst doing the same using version Version 4.2.1b

When I use the import tool I get the following message:

346 Records skipped due to error

    Which means nothing is imported.

I have tried importing the same CSV file into the old 4.2.1b version and they import with no problems.

Why would this happen? Is there a fix available to get this new version working?

    Thanks,

it is most likely that a sugarcrm required field (LastName) is not available in the source data

check your spreadsheet and make sure that all mandatories are there

    Thanks for your reply.

The last name data is available in the spreadsheet and is correctly assigned. I can get this to work with an earlier version of sugar, just not the latest version.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

after you imported, there should have been a link to download errors. This will give you more information on what might be the issue.

On the main import screen, there is a dropdown called 'Fields Qualified by'. Did you select any value here? If you left it blank the first time, then i suggest choosing 'Double Quote'. It is possible that one cell was blank, and this could have caused all cells to import into the wrong field, which could be the cause of your problem.

you will also want to double check to see if you are importing into dropdown or multiselect fields. If the dropdown values on your csv do not exist for the field in the CRM, there will be an error.

I get a HTTP 404 file not found error when clicking on this link.

I have selected both none and double quotes but still get the error.

I would just like reiterate that this import works fine with version 4.2.1b using this exact CSV file.

The reason for using the updated version is because I have a new system so I thought I build the latest Sugar release.

    Thanks,

Has anybody managed a target import from csv with a new version of sugar crm?

I think my only choice here is to use an older version.

    Thanks,
