Default Inbound Mailbox settings - Values keep changing

Do anyone else have this strange phenomenon? (Using Linux and 4.2.0d)

I have set up a group user and mail box with an associated Email acccount. Using POP3 and defined that Import only Since last check set to Yes. This value keeps being reset to No. The Auto reply fields also keep being reset to the defaults!

With a normal user, the Email address keeps being changed from the users Email address to the Group Email address!

What is going on here ? ?
    Cheers Malcolm

Same exact problem here Malcom. I'm running 4.0.1c on Linux.

I'd be very interested in a solution. I have two group email boxes. For one of them the value FINALLY seems to have stuck but the 2nd account keeps having the value mysteriously change.

Is this the same bug as this ?

Unfortunately it does not seem to be fixed yet.

I had this problem with one user account in 4.2.0d. I'm now having this problem with all the user accounts in version 4.2.1.

I don't know how it's related to Bug Number 6248. But while using POP3 the presence of a From Name/Address kept the flag in its place but did not seem to have any bearing on the filter behaviour. Because the admin account is default it never had an entry of its own here so the flag never wanted to stay put.

In the meantime I've switched to IMAP. I think it works with IMAP because PHP doesn't need this flag to filter unread messages when using IMAP.

When IMAP is selected this option doesn't appear to function. Although email is remaining on the server after import, it will only import since the last check regardless of whether the flag is present or not.

If this feature is for mail servers that don't have IMAP, is there some other way to reset the user account so it will collect all the email on the server again?

I have been working with IMAP for quite a while, but that doesn't seem to resolve the problem either.

    Any more suggestions?

I'm not sure Malcolm, but maybe we can help by narrowing down when these items are reset? We attempted to pinpoint it by refreshing the user account page in admin while users performed actions as instructed.

In our case, the reset seems to be triggered whenever the user checks their email.

Malcolm is right. I guess I was being too optimistic. First, using IMAP does not seem to be solving this problem; the email settings continue to have a mind of their own. Second, the email does not stay on the server as instructed.

What is the relationship between the Inbound Email and the regular email set up within user accounts? A personal.user Inbound Email is setup automatically with every user account I set up. Could there be conflicts between the two when settings are saved? Is the Inbound Email necessary?
