Default Incoming email and round robin

    Hello,

We are new to Sugar and have recently installed the Community version. We were able to install Process Manager which will be great for automated action plans.

We would like to know if there is a way for our incoming email to be downloaded automatically without having to save it to Sugar. We don't want it to stay on the server. We created a group folder to try and work around this but our scheduler script runs for a day or so and then stops. We need the email to function like Outlook does.

We also need to be able to assign leads to our sales team through a round-robin distribution method and had hoped that Sugar could handle this once the email was received e.g. 1st email comes to sales@companyname.com and then is forwarded as a lead to sales person 1, 2nd email to sales person 2, 3rd email to sales person 1, etc.

The other challenge we have is that we'd like the sync between Outlook and Sugar to be automatic - similar to if how email works between a blackberry and outlook.

Does anyone know if this can be done? If so, is there an application or module that would work?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you assign your group inbox to a group folder then it should import all emails into SugarCRM. CE does not have round robin, that is a PRO/ENT feature.

Not ecactly sure what you mean by automatic syncing between sugar and outlook. If you create a group folder then all emails will be imported into sugarcrm for you. The outlook plugin requires that you attach an email to a contact or account or whatever.

Sure, it might be there and maybe if I had tested it a little better I might have seen it and maybe if I had read the CE manual I might have seen it maybe.... but that doesnt mean I am wrong....well... maybe it does a little.

Where can I get the best info on setting up a group folder? I have googled and read SugarCRM for Dummies, but still cannot get the Group folder to display emails. I think the problem may be with the batch file we had to create for the scheduler, but for the life of me I cannot see what is wrong with it. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to add that I am using SugarCRM Version 5.2.0a (Build 5447) .

Thanks for the link, but I've already tried that. Just cannot get email to display in a group folder. I do not want to hijack this topic, but if anyone knows of any additional info on why group folders will not work I greatly appreciate the help.

    sirbanks,
Look at the database table folders. Look at the id of this folder. Then query folder_rel table to see all the relationships of group folder to emails.

    select * from folders_rel where folder_id = ' group folder id' and deleted = 0

This query should return some data.

Let me know what you get.

does CE have round robin lead assignment distribution??

i have a team called 'sales' and i wish to cycle the lead assignment evenly across the sales team - seems a pretty common requirement - but dont see a solution on CE??

    cheers,
    Michael
