    Exclamation Installation blocked v. 4.5

I had SugarCRM already running smoothly on my hoster (shared hosting).
Today I had the bad idea to upload the Full Package of version 4.5, deleting the previous installation.
Now, I cannot continue the installation because
MB Strings Module Not found: SugarCRM will not be able to process multi-byte characters. This will impact receiving emails in character sets other than UTF-8.
I believe this is a serious programming error, I don't mean a bug, but allowing the installation to stop only because I cannot accept other sets than UTF-8.
I thnk that the installation should continue even if the message appears.

Now, to solve my problem, what lines and what code shall I modify in the install.php file in order to have this message ignored by the installation procedure?
    It's urgent, please,
    Fausto

You need the php_mbstrings module loaded in PHP. It should just be a matter of uncommenting out the relevant line in php.ini. As you are "hosted" you may need to get your hosting company to do it. Don't forget to restart apache.

From my experience during some of the testing, just getting past this in the install won't really help you.

Sugar Team - I bet this isn't the only time this comes up - could be worth making it even more obvious (including showing the php.ini change) in the install and release guide notes.

Thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunately, since the hosting is shared they won't change this for me.
Anyway, I have re-installed version 4.2.1 just to continue working, and I noticed that there are differences in the 4.2.1 checklist compared to the 4.5. one. In fact,
4.2.1 says I don't have enough memory (memory limit)
4.5. says I have unlimited memory and that's OK.

I hope that in the future the documentation will provide information on the minimum requirements for Sugar OS.

Moreover, if I try to install the upgrade patch 4.2.1. ---> 4.5, what will happen?

    Yours truly,
    Fausto
