Installing modules/upgrading Sugar is slower each time

I've seen that every time I install/upgrade a module/patch (or better: I open the modules/patch pages), SugarCRM tends to be slower. Now it takes minutes onlye to open the "Install module" page. I think this is due to the fact that i have a lot of documents and files attached to notes, and it seems to me that SugarCRM tries to read each file in "cache/upload" directory in order to see if it is a module archive file or something like that.

I have about 5.000 files inside that directory (about 760 MB).

Is it normal that having a lot of documents and files attached to notes slows down the modules/patches page?
