Maybe the same problem like here ( http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66861 )?
How did you create the notes? <module>->History->Create note or attachment? I tried this with my 6.0.1 installation for a contact and had no problem opening the attached file after that.

The documents, powerpoints and other files were created as notes in activities or as history. They worked for a while, but now we get the invalid reference. So, not really sure where to look next.
Thanks fro your response.
SugarCRM puts all attached files in this directory: cache/upload/. The file names are the ids of the notes they are attached to.
Are there any files named like eg. '5d83153a-534c-5d41-10bc-4c7ced6f0537' in that directory? Sadly they have no file extension, so it is not easy to see what kind of data is stored in them. They are the original uploaded files, only renamed.
Is it possible that anyone removed files from the 'cache' (look here for some information concerning the cache-directory in Sugar: http://www.jejik.com/articles/2008/0...y_demystified/)?

Thanks again for your response, it was very helpful. We were able to locate the files on the server and trace them back to the id's on the database. The issue now is how to get the application to reference the files to be opened. On this I am pretty clueless and so, any guidance would be great.
Thanks,
Kent
