Default Issues Importing. Stops on specific record number

    Hi there,

I am having issue importing contacts. I typed a long message but lost it with a timeout so will try and keep it brief this time .

Have imported Accounts without too many issues. When importing contacts, the import fails without error, and imports only 984 records on the first attempt.

I resorted the CSV file to eliminate the possibility that it is was a specific record/data quality issue and again it imports 984 records, and stops without error. ( after removing all contacts)

If I cut the already imported contacts from the CSV, I get about 1050 contacts come in on the second attempt.

It seems to be failing at just below or above 1000 contacts, but I am getting no errors.. the progress bar ( little red scolling dots ) just stop.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Michael

Consider upgrading to a newer sugar version.
Probably you are facing a issue regarding your 5.0.0 RC version.

    Hi André,

Thank you for getting back to me. I thought that would probably be the case. I will certainly try and do this, but I am having issues with my current host updating server (php limits) .. They are not really set up for SugarCRM even though they offer it as an installable app... so I think I will be looking for a new host for this one.

Will work out the update and see how I go from there.

Once again, thank you for your assistance.

    Regards

Many times when I see this it's due to a bad import file. Look at the lines around where it fails to see if there's a missing comma somewhere or a apostrophe/comma in some column value that causes the parse to fail.

    Hi eggsurplus,

Thanks for the suggestion. That was my original thought but I have actually tried splitting the import file into sections, and for eg. the FULL file stops at line 475 ( 474 lines of data imported and a header row ).. I create a new file starting with the next line of data, pop in the header row, and import again, and it works fine?? So it does not appear to be actual data.

We did initially have issues with "(" and ")", and after much reading worked out date / time format issues, but with these issues fixed, the data seems pretty clean... but I will check again as it is 120000 contact records.. and even in writing this response I have thought of something that might be wrong, so thank you

I have also decided to change hosts in order to be able to get the latest version running ( current host wont change setting to allow me to upgrade and are running 5.0.0 RC ?!?! ) and then I will try again.

    Many thanks
