Java GUID

Hi All,
I'm using Sugar 5.1.0

Basically i want to generate a unique number for Accounts. Is there any way of doing this using Java to create a GUID? If yes can the Java be easily intergrated with the CRM?

If you have access to the database you can call a

select uuid();

statement to mysql.
