Keep other users out of "assigned to" select box?

I know that by using a Role, I can make sure that each user ONLY sees his own leads. But how can I keep the other user names out of the "Assigned to" drop-down selection box in Edit?

Yes, I could get rid of the selection box, but then the Admin would not have use of it in case it was needed.
