OK, This weekend's video blog is on Search Module enhancements. I cover alot of ground in this one and it incudes a module that is OS, PRO and ENT compatible.

In this lesson I talk about adding much of the missing search functionality back into SugarCRM.

1. Use '*' as the wildcard instead of the '%' sign
2. Allow searches for Bill,Tom,Chris
3. Allow searches for Bill and Tom
4. Phone number searches that actually work
5. amounts and potential that use greater tha and less than signs

The next few lessons I am going to make them longer and more indepth on the actual coding side. Here are a few of the upcomming topics:

1. I am going to do masked input fields and a password strength meter for when users are created.
2. I am going to do a "Force a new user to change their password on first login" script
3. A 3 strikes and your out login script. 3 failed password attempts and yourIP address or account is locked
4. We're gonna do something in 5.0 but I don't know what yet.
5. A complete manifest file
6. writing a "report" in the OS version of Sugar. We will go over how to wirte a PHP that will generate a useful report. Not as configurable but useful none the less.
7. How to "Merge Code" to make modules compatible or bring your custom views into a new version of sugar
8. How to do a calculated field and MAYBE how to do a chained select box. This is alot harder than it sounds, but I think with AJAX we can pull it off
9. How to do a "type in zip code and city/state are filled in"
10. many many more, keep the suggestions comming.

This is all great and only makes me eager to see the next installment... especialy the script to force users to change their password !!!!!
