Label not changing on Cases layout listview

Changed a field label on Cases from "Priority" to "Line". Changed ok on the Detail & Edit view layout. Did not change on List view layout. So I went into the field on List View and tried to change the label. It didn't save. It was interesting that when you click "Save & Deploy" you could see it change back from "Line" to "Priority". I moved it to "Hidden" and it saved. But if I moved it from "hidden" to "default" it changed back again from "line" to "Priority".

In anticipation that it was a permission problem, I modified all permissions to Folders = 755 and Files = 644. It made no difference.

I reinstalled fresh, re-did permissions and attempted to change again and the same problem occured.

Anyone have the solution? I have been at this for over 10 hours today alone!
