Language Extension Broken!!

Hi,

Any modification to custom/Extension/Modules/Contacts/Ext/Language is ignored and there i have to make changes to Modules/Contacts/language/en_us.php file {this is not safe method i believe}.... This is true for any new relationship i build with contacts.... or any other field whose label needs to be changed through language files... I have tried clearing cache... no change... what to do?

Have you tried to Admin/Repair/Rebuild extensions?

Yes, i tried that.... cleared cache... Rebuilt all modules.... its still not working
