    Question Latest Beta Install Problem

I upgraded to the latest beta and the install hung on me and now it is partially installed. Is there a way to trick the system into believing it is not installed so that I can re install it? If i try to install useing the wizard it tells me that it is not a valid upgrade because it thinks it is currently installed,

    Any help is appriciated

    GW

You can edit sugar_config.php to change the version Sugar thinks it is, but the patch often includes SQL code that you don't want to apply twice. What version are you upgrading from?

it is the latest version, yes. But not the latest "Beta" version. Note the thread title - "Latest Beta Install Problem".... Not trying to be a smarty pants just trying to figure a way to get the beta to install completely.

Ah, sorry, I get it. But there isn't an upgrade path from the beta to the general release, so upgrading your live site to that is a bad idea (unless you're just upgrading a copy, in which case I would say try duplicating the original again).

Otherwise, your best bet is probably just to copy all the files from the patch over manually, then invoke the post-upgrade script (or the parts of it that got skipped) by copying it to the root directory and loading the path in a web browser. This is a very simplistic explanation - you really need somebody with some technical knowledge to sort it out completely.

Thank you Andrew! It is a live site (one user, Me) but the data is safe.... I will probably fool with it some more just for my own education. I really appriciate your help. I guess the way it is now is okay... I mean it works and shows the beta as the current version so I'll probably do my best to really mess it up by trying to fix it... if that makes sense.
