Default "Lead" integration from 3rd party solution

    Hi All,

I'm rather new to Sugar CRM, having only been looking at it for just over a week after a friend asked me to integrate a simple shopping cart i did for them into what they described as "a rather good piece of kit".

They are currently using version 4.2.x but are about to move server and upgrade to the latest version on a Windows based system (i believe that to be correct as of last update i had off them).

The situation is as follows, once the order is processed, i need to import the data into the Sugar "Leads" Table - easy enough to do, i've a script running that is doing that for me. What i'm trying to work out is:

Do i need to input any data into any other associated tables? I spotted email_leads do i need to add data in here?

I noticed that the "leads" table didn't do an auto increment, so how do i create a Sugar "Lead" id? can i auto increment or do i need to do something specific?

Also is there anything else i need to be aware of such as Ii need to ensure that a data for a specific field follows a specific pattern? etc

I'd be really grateful to anybody who could give me a bit of guidance.

    Many thanks,

    Rob
