lead module convert

I am new to SugarCRM.I am using version 6.3.0.
I wanted to make oppurtunity name a drop down but unable to do so.
I have accessedOppurtunityFormBase.php .But changes in that file is not working on the live software.
I tried through studio.and it worked for the main tag of Oppurtunity in the menu bar. But cant change in the lead section.

Please help me...

OpportunityFormBase.php isn't loaded anymore.
You must create an extended vardefs for Opportunities in order to redefine name as a dropdown.
Additionally you will need to fix all values of name in database, according to the predefined values.

I have made a dropdown in the place of opportunity name.I want to use javascript to get values in a separate text box according to the values of the dropdown
