I can not seem to find the lead overview layout in Studio so that I can add the fields that I need to see.
Any ideas?

It is usually the first panel on the Edit or Detail view layout. What are you seeing when you access the Edit or Detail view layouts?

The edit and detail views work fine and show the new field that I added. and the same new field that I added to the Contacts works fine as well. however when I go to view leads then I don't see it in the "Lead Overview" and I can't find anything in studio that relates the that view!.
I would be glad to skype and show you or let you logon to the system and see for yourself. If you are willing send me a quick email and I will set you up as an admin.

Post a screenshot.
Did you click "Save & Deploy" after making your change in Studio? If you did, and it is still not showing up, you most likely have some sort of permissions issue as what clicking that button causes Sugar to copy a file into the custom/modules/Leads/metadata folder. If it can't for whatever reason (such as permissions), then your changes won't appear.

First I could find no layout for the "Lead Overview" in Studio. I did save and deploy all of the other views that I modified. Notice that in the Contact View the account field has been replaced with a "type" of contact. this is what I would like to do in the Lead Overview.

My Bad! Thank you so much for responding to me, When you mentioned Save and Deploy it occured to me that I may have just saved it! Well that was it! Working now. Now all I need to do is get my cron job working correctly. One of the other Heros is working on that one right now
