    Hey everyone,

    Firstly, apologies if this question has been answered before. I have found posts which ask the same question, but none which answer it.

    We are running Sugar Professional, Version 5.0.0b (Build 3150) on Debian Etch and have just started migrating our client information over to SugarCRM.

    One of the questions my users are asking me over and over, is that when a lead is created through the Leads tab, and a valid account name is entered, it does not link to its corresponding account (that is, there is no hyperlink which takes you to the account).

    There is no Select button to choose an account, either – it’s just a text box. However, when the lead is created through the Accounts tab, it is correctly linked.
    Furthermore, in the page which shows a list of leads, all of them display links in the account field. If the lead was created from the Account tab, those links work fine. However, if not, clicking on them produces the error:

    Error retrieving record. This record may be deleted or you may not be authorized to view it.

    Is there any solution to this? Or a bug ID which I can keep an eye on at least?

    Hello,

    You are correct, unless you link a lead directly from the Accounts module, there is no direct link between a Lead and an Account within the Leads module.

    When you decide to convert a lead, in the Convert Lead screen, the 'Create Account' checkbox is automatically checked off. If you uncheck this, then you have the option to search for and link the new Contact to an existing Account in the system.

    You might want to try to rebuild your teams and see if this helps.
