    Default Leads vs. Opportunities

    Hey folks,

Our IT department is trying to deploy SugarCRM to our Sales Team. Typically, the "leads" that we get from marketting are all good, qualified leads. In SugarCRM-speak, they're basically opportunities. We recently purchased the "Implementing SugarCRM e-book" which states that we have the option of doing away with Leads entirely and just using Opportunities.

The problem we're running into is this: There doesn't seem to be an easy way to take an incoming e-mail and immediately create an Opportunity off of it.

Ideally, we'd like to have all e-mail go into a central e-mail box that the Sales Manager would have access to. The Sales Manager would go into the box, create Opportunities and then assign them to members of her team.

    Is this possible?

Any help you can provide is very much appreciated.

If I understand your question correctly there is a great solution.

there is an outlook plug in where you can click on an email message
    click the sugar cube
    select "opportunity"
    type in the account name

and sugar will find the account/opportunity and allow you to copy it into the archive of that opportunity.
