Left nav(toolbox) does not include new custom field!

I am having problems displaying Custom Fields after I create them . I have logged in as an admin, gone to the Studio, Created the Custom field. I then went to the Edit layout but I can not see the custom in the toolbox on the left.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

I don't know how to do this by the studio if you can't see your fields but if you haven't any solution you can edit the custom\working\modules\your_module\EditView.html file to add manually your field. After that you can refresh your window (in the studio) and plunlish your new layout.

3 hints:

1. I had this problem using IE 6 to edit layouts, when I used FIREFOX it worked.

2. Sometimes Sugar looses the labels of the custom fields - so they get unvisible.
Just check the LBL-Files in custom\modules\<module>\language\en_us.lang.php.
There should be an entry for each custom field like
e.g.
$mod_strings['region_c'] = 'Region';
for a custom field Region.

3. NEVER, really never create custom fields with same name as already existing sugar fields in that module.

Unfortunately, I am not able to figure this one out. I do see the custom fields in the custom directory
/custom/modules/Leads/language/en_us.lang.php

Tried to use firefox, netscape, and IE (7) and it still does not work. Any suggestions?
