Default Link button in MCE for email does not work (creates broken links)

No matter what I do, the link button in MCE insists on creating a broken link. Even when I go into HTML mode, and insert the correct link, it changes it back.

    What I want:

    <a href="http://www.website.com">Link</a>

This is what the SugarCRM MCE insists on changing it to no matter what I try:

    <a href="../">Link</a>

Needless to say this is extremely frustrating as we can't insert links now into any of our emails. It seems so simple to have something like this screw up, I must be doing something wrong?

I've tried it in Firefox, Chrome, IE. Same problem.

    Thanks.

I think I discovered the problem.

I can create links fine for every URL, except for ones that are on the site I'm running SugarCRM.

Then the MCE uses an relative path instead. This screws up any link I want to have on the site/domain I'm running SugarCRM.

Does anyone know workaround so URLs don't come out like this:

    <a href="../">link</a>

Have you figured this out? It's super annoying.

The only workaround that I've come up with is using the servers IP address. Of course this doesn't work well if you have a dynamic address. Additionally, Thunderbird reports the email as a possible scam.

    I am not certain this will work as I can not recreate your issue - it sounds similar to what I posted here;

in this forum title: Href in Tracker URL / Email malformed ----------------------------------------------------------
Somehow I stumbled across the fix
logging in as Admin - selecting "Campaign Email Settings" -
then changing "Location of campaign tracking files (like campaign_tracker.php)" Check Box
    FROM default
TO the path to my sugarcrm directory..
in my case I typed in www.mysite.com/sugarcrm/
NOW all outgoing HREF's in tracker URL's of a campaign email msg get prepended with this path.
    Perfect.
I am not sure why this wouldnt have been the "Default" used by sugar to begin with...

I think by default sugar presumes it is in top folder
