Alright, I'm pretty new at Sugar but here it goes:
I am importing accounts and contacts from ACT. From what I understand you must import accounts first then contacts for Sugar to place the right contacts into the right accounts. I did that, it works great...but here's the problem:
I've got multiple same account names when I first import from ACT into accounts. Sugar creates those multiple accounts like I need it to (ex. AAA Company in NY, AAA Company in TX; Sugar creates two accounts with the same name, AAA Company).
Now when I import contacts with the same account names (ex. Joe from AAA Company in NY, Bob from AAA Company in TX) Sugar 'guesses' which account that those contacts are linked to. The problem is, it links both names to only one account. I need Sugar to be able to tell which contacts go to which accounts of the same name.
I tried to associate the ID field in Sugar to be the same for both the account name and contact that needs to be linked (ex. Joe: 000001; AAA Company in NY: 000001, Bob: 000002 AAA Company in TX: 000002), however it didn't link the right contacts to the right accounts. It seemed as if it 'guessed' again which account the contacts should be placed in and put both of them there.
It's a bit confusing, hope you understand what I need help with. Maybe this will help a little more:
AAA Company
TX
Bob
___________
AAA Company
NY
Joe
Sugar puts these contacts into the accounts like this:
AAA Company
TX
Bob
Joe
__________
AAA Company
NY
(NO NAMES)
