I am new to Sugar and migrating from Goldmine. I have used my previous CRM to track referrals from one contact to another. I am not sure how sugar can handle this.

For example: I have a reverse mortgage business. A customer who may be in process or closed may refer another customer to me. I want to link that referral to the referring party. I want to run reports of the type of referral and if the referral closed. If I simply create a drop down I will not be able to put everyone in my database in the drop down. I also want to keep track of the history of referrals for a particular contact. I would like to know how many and when the referrals happened.
