Links as Hyperlinks?

I can't seem to set up a custom field that displays a link using SugarCE 5.2.
If I do it within the module(logic hook) code, it shows up using the character codes for "<" and ">" and so forth, rather than having an actual hyperlink. If I do it as a field of type "link," it doesn't throw in the other identifiers I want in it such as {id} which literally comes up as "href={id}" instead of "href=324jg2f3uyk4."

Anything I can do to make it parse or not parse the link? Some form of control?

I'm having the same problem. I realize this post is a few months old.. anyone have the solution for this?
