Linux Install Error: Permission denied in crm/jssource/minify.php on line 107

Hi, I have searched the forum with no luck, so here is my problem details - just hope someone can help!


Sugar Version (5.0)
Sugar Edition (free)
Category (Install)
Operating System (Linux)
PHP Version (5.24)
Database (MySQL 4.1.22-standard-log
Web Server (Apache 1.3.39 (Unix))

Steps to reproduce

1. Uploaded zip to server and unpacked
2. Went to main page link to start installation
3. Error messages appear at the top of the screen before the installation screen (please see the bottom of this post for all the errors)
4. Therefore I have not even attempted to go through with the installation process.

I have attempted other resolutions listed in these forums such as making all the permissions to 777, but nothing works.

Try changing the access rights of all your files from your html folder to 777, i.e. chmod 777 -R crm.

Hi Malcolm,

Thanks for the quick reply. As I said, I have tried the suggestion to change all the files to 777. So I will keep looking for a solution, unless there is something else you can suggest?

On to the next problem.

I am having the database issue (step 3: database username and password incorrect), and again have searched the forum for a solution. While a lot of the posts dont make sense as the answers are very brief and not explained, the other solutions havent worked.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi

You may not have a write permission on the include/javascript/ directory. Your apache user may not an owner of this directry. Please double check it.
