I am not a linux guru. but i need to set the apachi dir to automatically start index.php when entering in the address. so they do not have tp type in index.php.
How do i do that via putty.

Apache should do that by default ... what happens when you type localhost in a browser running on your server?

quick fix. Renamed the index.html to index1.html. Then it worked fine.
