Default Listview on Accounts reinstantiates object till you get a timeout error

After doing a repair on Accounts, you can goto the list view and the Account object just keeps getting instantiated over and over again till you get a max execution time error. The listview never displays at all.
    There is no custom code.

The reason i know it is getting reinstantiated is because I put an echo statement in the contructor. It creates an instance around 900 times before the max execution timeout error.

Anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this?

heres what the problem was, the repair had nothing to do with it.
We had accounts related to accounts so we could have sub accounts.
someone ( probably me ) related an account to itself so it just recursively called itself.
